OUR STORY

ODLC began with a simple but powerful idea from our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Erica Taylor, MD, MBA: Healthcare leaders need structured support, strategy, and development to succeed in driving change.

What started as an innovative curriculum quickly grew into an organic movement — a collective of accomplished clinicians, trainees, and industry health professionals stepping forward to lead transformational efforts within their organizations.

That movement has expanded to include leaders from across medical specialties and industries, united by a shared commitment to advancing equitable, high-quality care for all communities.

WHY IT MATTERS

The demand for forward-thinking leadership in healthcare has never been greater.

Too often, individuals are asked to lead complex cultural and system-level change without the appropriate resources, authority, or strategic framework to succeed. This can lead to burnout, frustration, and stalled progress.

ODLC helps close that gap. Through structured leadership development and a powerful national network, we equip leaders to:

Succeed in their roles with clarity and confidence

Strengthen organizational culture and engagement.
Drive better outcomes for patients, colleagues, and communities.

At ODLC, you’re not alone. You’re part of a national community redefining what leadership in healthcare can achieve.

No matter where you are in your journey, we have a membership option for you!

ABOUT ODLC

The Orthopaedic Diversity Leadership Consortium

In response to a growing need for structured leadership development within healthcare, Dr. Erica Taylor created an innovative curriculum designed to bring strategic solutions to complex organizational challenges.

The idea of equipping clinicians to lead transformational change while maintaining active surgical careers was innovative and addressed a previously unmet need within academic medicine.

The immediate response led to the formation of a growing collective of accomplished surgeons and healthcare professionals committed to advancing care, culture, and community health within their institutions.

Today, ODLC includes leaders from across medical specialties and industries around the globe.

Healthcare professionals seeking to strengthen their impact, refine their approach to organizational change, and build sustainable leadership strategies find this network a rare and valuable resource.

The demand for leadership that strengthens culture, improves outcomes, and drives sustainable system change continues to grow.

Without appropriate support, thoughtful strategy, and decision-making authority, even the most capable leaders risk burnout or stalled progress.

Through this powerful and supportive network, ODLC increases leadership effectiveness and fosters the sustainable creation of high-performing, mission-driven healthcare environments for patients, colleagues, and communities.
